Our Partnership
The Franklin Center For Innovation, Inc. is happy to announce our partnership with the Thorn Hill Education Center, Dilly Dilly Farms, and CommonWealth Garden. This partnership has formed the Frankfort Community Garden Team.
This Team will create a Community Teaching Garden growing on the grounds at Thorn Hill Education Center and offer a collaborative learning environment for teaching sustainable gardening.
What is Sustainable gardening? – one of the most important and effective sustainability practices that we can follow – is the concept of using gardening techniques that cause no harm to the earth and its inhabitants while attempting to actually enhance it.

THORN HILL GARDEN - 2 PHASE PLAN
Phase One: Fall of 2021
The Garden will include a Teaching section that is ADA compliant, raised beds, a berry garden and even mushrooms.
Phase Two: Spring of 2022
We will add a community garden area, fruit trees, rain capture watering system, and hoop houses to extend our growing season.
Why A Teaching Garden?
Teaching Gardens address the healthy eating challenges that are facing our nation’s children and families by supporting school and community gardens. This successful approach to engaging youth makes healthy foods fun, and provides opportunities for children to not only grow, but understand and enjoy the benefit of eating healthy foods. The Frankfort Community Garden Teams mission is empowering students to become champions of change and promote healthier lifestyles to their families and school communities.
